JOB PURPOSE

Purpose of this position is to complete the work in various departments to meet the demands of the industry. This position may be used in all areas of the warehouse and not specifically to one department. The main focus of this position is to drive equipment safely and effectively through the warehouse completing tasks through the warehouse operating systems. High levels of accuracy and safety are required.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND OTHER DUTIES

  • Use the Radio Frequency (RF) unit to process orders with high accuracy.
  • Drive safely, pull or put into place pallets into specified locations (racks, floor, containers, etc.)
  • Use of the Personal Knowledgement Management System (PkMS) Verifies the quantity and description of order pulled and prepped for shipping.
  • Sort product by type and place in storage.
  • Performs duties in the module, in active locations where product is kept, moving product from different locations, preparing for shipment, and inventory control.
  • Must be willing to work in all areas within the warehouse from the Receiving Department through the Shipping department in all facets.
  • Keeps a clean and orderly workspace.
  • Adheres to all safety and warehouse rules.
  • Abides by all safety precautions and responsibilities as an equipment operator.
  • Completes safety and record keeping logs.
  • Ability to lift 30lbs comfortably and repeatedly. For product exceeding 30 pounds, team lift is required. Product can weigh up to 62 pounds.
  • Will be required to operate different types of equipment (e.g. manual pallet jack, tape machine, tape gun and banding machine) and the ability to certify to drive forklifts, order stacker, reach truck, and or electric pallet jack.
  • Change equipment batteries as needed depending on equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • General Warehouse knowledge is desired.
  • Ability to follow directions and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Computer warehouse knowledge (PkMS)
  • Knowledge of how to use the RF scanner properly.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Results driven.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Willingness to help in any capacity as needed in the warehouse.
  • Ability to maintain a friendly working relationship with a diverse team and leadership to promote productivity and maintain an attitude of positive service.
  • Can accept and offer constructive feedback comfortably while maintaining good working relationships.
  • Be able to operate equipment safely.
  • Conduct all safety checks on equipment and fill out proper forms.
 
Position Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to read, write and perform basic math skills.
  • Moderate computer experience is required for problem solving.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Traditional work environment: Be able to work in various temperature environments. Must be able to withstand different noise levels and repetitive sounds. Level of noise in the work environment can be moderate to loud depending on work volume.
  • Climbing stairs and stools to reach product.
  • During peak season, must be able work 12 hours, Saturdays and Sundays.

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time, walk distances, be able to work in different weather conditions (hot and cold)
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Vision abilities required to perform this job include close vision and attention to detail.
  • Lifting requirements include Self: 30lbs Team Lift: 30+ lbs.
  • Must be able to climb stairs at times.
  • Must be able to wear all appropriate safety attire and safety toe shoes.

 

CERTIFICATION

  • Be able to obtain or have obtained a valid certification to operate warehouse equipment.
