Summary/Objective: The Parts Department Associate is responsible for providing Bemidji Aviation maintenance departments with the parts and supplies needed to support maintenance and flying operations for BASI. This is done in accordance with established corporate policies, procedures and FAA requirements.
Essential Functions:
The Parts Department Associate completes the following activities in a timely manner, per established company guidelines:
- Ensures that all materials requested by maintenance are provided promptly to support all Bemidji Aviation maintenance related operations, such as repair, inspection, installation.
- Ensures that parts, equipment and services requisitioned by maintenance personnel are ordered and delivered in a timely manner in all situations.
- Creates accurate purchase orders.
- Replenishes stock in maintenance self-serve areas and pilot shop.
- Communicates effectively with vendors to acquire parts and supplies.
- Effectively researches alternative vendors for cost savings in purchasing parts.
- Maintains vendor information in an organized system.
- Performs shipping and receiving functions
- Inspects, and bins the daily deliveries of materials to ensure established quality guidelines.
- Invoices FBO customers at point of sale (POS).
- Actively participates in the training and implementation and upkeep of the inventory system.

Work Environment: This job operates approximately 90% of the time inside a climate-controlled building and approximately 10% of the time outside in all types of weather. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, climb up and down stairs, bend/stoop, occasionally push/pull and lift weight up to 75 lbs, use hands to grasp, finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. On rare occasions may be required to crawl, use fine motor manipulations, kneel, and repeat motions.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full time position.
Travel: Some travel will be expected with this position.
Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required - BS/BA preferred. Valid driver’s license. 3 year work history. General clerical capabilities. Experience in parts departments/inventory. Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office programs.
