Description

SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision, provides administrative and logistical support to public health response activities for COVID-19, including assisting in communication and educational outreach efforts, scheduling and logistics; responding to public inquiries; performing data entry, inventory management and record keeping; and coordination of testing activities.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The job description is subject to change at any time by the employer. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Assist the Public Health Response Coordinator in executing and documenting COVID response activities; creates and updates databases, including accurate data entry and the development of various queries and reports to support program needs; and develops and executes queries to produce reports.
• Support the public health response program with COVID response logistics, including development and dissemination of outreach and educational materials and maintenance of communications platforms; creates educational materials used for outreach and disseminates via mailings, e-mail notices, website updates, other digital notification processes.
• Draft content for posting on various digital media outlets, send media advisories, press releases, and other announcements.
• Support communications activities by maintaining contact lists, updating website, creating and updating internal and external newsletters or other progress updates resources, providing logistical and technical support for virtual meetings, and responding to general inquiries and other activities to enhance public awareness regarding COVID-19.
• Provide other logistical support, such as inventory management and organizing supplies.
• Provide event support, including assisting with logistics and scheduling; conducts planning meetings; reserve location, set up venue to specifications; organizing participant materials; ensuring venue readiness, and preparing minutes or similar documentation; coordinate activities with vendors or community partners.
• May assist with COVID-19 contact tracing activities as assigned to include calling contacts of newly diagnosed patients, conducting interviews, documenting responses, and recording information in a database.
• Supports the relationship between the Teton County staff and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.

 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in science-oriented field from an accredited college or university with an interest in public health or emergency management; AND two (2) years administrative and clerical experience working in a professional setting; OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Preference for individuals with work experience in non-profits, local government, or health and human service organizations.

Required Knowledge of:
• Standard office practices and procedures, including filing and retrieval systems, correspondence formats, and the operation of standard office equipment.
• Maintaining confidentiality and discretion with sensitive information.
• Principles of organizing information, record keeping, and confidential records management.
• English usage, spelling, vocabulary, grammar, proofreading, and punctuation.
• Ability to work effectively with other employees, agencies, and the public.
• Business computers, standard MS Office software applications, specialized software applications and internet technologies.

Other Requirements:
Individuals selected for employment are required to:
• Successfully complete CDC Health Trace Data System Training.
• Successfully complete Wyoming Health Department HIPAA training.

Work Environment:
• Office environment with occasional work after hours and on weekends to support program activities. The position is grant funded and continuation of the position is dependent on sustained grant funding.
