Share Email Opening Title Operator III  Description This position is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of any of the Water/Wastewater Treatment, or Lift Station areas, as assigned. Makes routine checks on a variety of equipment and records information as required. Performs a variety of operational tasks, some of which include wasting, pumping, sampling, transferring, supernating, skimming, washing, etc. Performs analytical tests and calculations to insure proper process control of the treatment plant. Makes process control adjustments in response to lab results. Performs corrective and preventive maintenance on a variety of mechanical equipment. Maintains buildings and grounds as required. Records information and fills out reports. Works with lift station personnel on occasion.   Position Requirements Must have a high school diploma or GED. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must have a basic knowledge of Wastewater Treatment Plant operations and maintenance. Must have a Class III Operators License or the ability to obtain license within one year.   Physical/Environmental Requirements The environmental working conditions of this position will include working outside in all types of weather with exposure to dust or fumes and poor ventilation. This position requires lots of walking and is frequently subjected to loud noise.
