FEBR - Door Technician 

Location International, Various Locations  


This position is associated with a Worldwide Forced-Entry/Ballistic Resistant (FEBR) and Anti-Ram Barrier (ARB) Design-Build, Repair and Replacement (R&R) contract and it is contingent upon award of the contract to Cube Root Corporation (Cube Root). The work will be performed at various overseas US Consulate and Embassy facilities and will entail miscellaneous FEBR and ARB system installation and associated minor general building construction to accommodate these installations.

This position is for Door Technician for construction projects at multiple, geographically dispersed locations. Typically, projects will range from $1M-$15M and will consist of repair, renovation, forced entry ballistic resistant door and window installation, anti-ram barriers, and associated technical security systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

Demolishes and prepares rough openings for replacement FEBR doors and windows.

Prepares and installs replacement FE/BR doors and windows.

Installs door and window finishes.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Position Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or GED.

Minimum 5 years related general construction experience required.

It is preferred that candidate have experience with installation of Forced Entry Ballistic Resistant Doors and Windows and is familiar with US Embassy/OBO standards for construction.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a Team.

Position requires self-motivation and the ability to work effectively under a minimum of supervision.

Work with plans, specs or instructions from supervisors and have good command of English language.

Knowledge and experience with other general construction skills such as carpenter, plumber, mason, or other building construction trades is desired and considered a plus.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Must have an OSHA 10-hr or EM-385 safety training certificate.

Security Clearance:

Must have a current US Government SECRET Personnel Security Clearance or be able to successfully complete a U.S. government administered Investigation to obtain SECRET Clearance.

Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Must also be able to maintain a US Government SECRET clearance.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be able to occasionally stand; walk; sit; use hands and/or fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; operate office equipment, reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

This is a physically demanding job. These doors weigh up to 500lbs. The employee is required to be able to work with a crew to lift and install these doors.


International Travel Required.

Work Environment:

Work is regularly performed indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions, including snow, rain, sleet, extreme winds, or ice storms. May be exposed to extreme temperatures, hot and cold, as part of environmental factors. Work may be performed near moving mechanical parts and/or vibration. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles or electrical shock hazards.
