Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 5 years total construction experience, with 3-years working as an apprentice under a Journeyman Carpenter. Successful completion of a Carpentry Apprenticeship Program. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to estimate height, width, length, and other dimensions. Work with blueprints or instructions from supervisors and have good command of English language. Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge. Must demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a Team. Position requires self-motivation and the ability to work effectively under a minimum of supervision. Knowledge and experience with other general construction skills such as welder, plumber, mason or other building construction trades is desired and considered a plus. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must have an OSHA 10-hr or EM-385 safety training certificate. Security Clearance: Must have a current US Government SECRET Personnel Security Clearance or be able to successfully complete a U.S. government administered Investigation to obtain SECRET Clearance. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must also be able to maintain a US Government SECRET clearance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work from all types of ladders and perform work at various heights. Travel: International Travel Required. Work Environment: Work is regularly performed indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions, including snow, rain, sleet, extreme winds, or ice storms. May be exposed to extreme temperatures, hot and cold, as part of environmental factors. Work may be performed near moving mechanical parts and/or vibration. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles or electrical shock hazards.
