General Summary:

Astronics Test Systems is seeking a Program Planner to work closely with the Program Management Office (PMO) to plan program execution across multiple mass transit programs in Westford, Orlando, and Bangalore.  This individual will follow-up on all actions to ensure timely closure of commitments.   Knowledge of Mass Transit business, experience working with current Transit customers such as NYCTA, MARTA, and/or MBTA is a plus.   This individual will advise management of contractual rights and obligations and provide risk mitigation guidance to minimize program contractual risks.  The successful candidate must exhibit strong communication skills and be able to represent Astronics Test Systems in all contractual matters from Proposal submittal through Program execution.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and maintaining program plans and schedules within the constraints of scope, schedule, cost and quality.
  • Provide planning support for projects including scheduling, budgeting, performance monitoring, analysis reporting, expediting, personnel planning and purchasing.
  • Coordinate functional groups including Production Control, Manufacturing, Procurement, Configuration Management and Engineering to support programs activities.
  • Track and analyze program performance and identify conflicts in resource requirements, schedules and approaches.
  • Assist in the development of Integrated Master Plan (IMP) and Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) that will guide program execution and serve as the basis for Earned Value performance.
  • Identify trends using effective schedule Metrics, suggests corrective actions in a timely manner and supports implementation
  • Proactively engages in program execution and risk management
  • Perform Schedule Assessments and Analyses on the baseline IMS to identify schedule risks and participate in Risk Management process
  • Review, recommend and implement, as appropriate, schedule work-around or recovery plans in a proactive manner

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or two years program/project management experience and some schooling.
