Summary:

This internship is with WarnerMedia and is part of the Gold Rising Program, an 8-week internship enhancement program that incorporates learning opportunities including an intensive two-day orientation, weekly panels, exclusive networking events, workshops, screenings, and mentorship opportunities with Academy members. The WarnerMedia team is laying the foundation for HBO Max, and they need highly motivated, uniquely skilled, and technically agile experts across a variety of disciplines to accomplish things that have never been done before.

The Summer 2021 program dates are June 7th through August 13th. The internship will be a full remote/virtual experience. Most internships will provide a company-owned laptop for the duration of the internship program. Interns are paid a competitive wage based on bureau location and relocation is not provided as the program is fully remote/virtual. Participation in the internship program is reserved for students who are currently enrolled in college. Most positions are targeted to upperclassmen and graduate students.

Position Requirements

Responsibilities:

The selected Intern will work with the HBO Max original programming department.

  • Although the Intern will spend the majority of his/her time in this department, the Intern will have exposure to Production, Post-Production, Business Affairs, Legal, Finance, and Public Relations on an ad hoc basis.
  • Past interns have sat in on meetings, have worked on various projects, attend professional development workshops/classes, as well as assist with basic day-to-day administrative needs (including, but not limited to, basic data entry, copying, etc., and other duties as need and as required).
  • Interns should be open to any project requested.
  • By the end of the internship, the Intern will have had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with all aspects of television and gain a broader understanding of the Industry within a very busy television network.

Qualifications:

  • Should be graduate students or rising juniors or seniors pursuing an undergraduate degree and must have completed their sophomore year in college prior to the start of the internship.
  • Although it is preferred that the candidate should be pursuing a degree in Film/Television or related field, it is not required.
  • Should be able to commit to 10 weeks of the internship and be able to work at least 2 full 8-hour days per week (the 8 hours within the day are flexible; for example, 9-5 or 11-7).
  • Should also have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Should be self-motivated, have the ability to work in a team environment and multi-task, have a good attitude and be able to function well in an environment with short deadlines and quick turnaround projects.
