What you will be doing:

  • Manage complex projects such as premium rate filings, yearend actuarial opinions, actuarial software tools, and industry studies including the National Risk Adjustment Reporting project;
  • Work with clients directly to understand the project, gather data and information, and communicate the results.
  • Draft reports documenting the methods, assumptions and results of our work with direct supervision of Senior Consulting Actuaries and Principals;
  • Lead the development of internal tools, software and methodologies;
  • Contribute to the direction of Wakely moving forward and support growth in niche areas;
  • Mentor actuarial analysts and interns.

 

 

 
Position Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of Medicaid actuarial experience, but not more than 10 years;
  • Current on government regulation and guidance as well as analytic techniques and methodologies, data sources;
  • Credentialed Actuary;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, Public Health, or related discipline required;
  • Strong organizational skills.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of Medicaid lines of business;
  • Client management experience;
  • Experience with Microsoft® Excel and Access;
  • Working knowledge of database/statistical analysis language (SQL/SAS);
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Willingness and aptitude for detail work.
