Description

Denver Christian is accepting applications for this anticipated opening. The start date for this position would be July 1, 2021. This is a full-time (12 month) position (following DC's school calendar full-time plus flexible summer hours).

Position Requirements

Professional Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Physical Education, Sport Management or related field.

  2. Master’s degree in Sport Management, Education or related field preferred.

  3. Previous experience as an Athletic Director and coach; experience working with state high school athletics organizations (e.g. CHSAA)

 

Professional Expectations: In addition to the Employee Handbook and the Faculty Procedures Handbook (as applicable), the responsibilities of this position would include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Leadership: Development of a PreK-12 athletic vision, including an elementary, middle school, and high school program; promotion and implementation of the vision with a growth mindset, ever-improving our athletics program in both quality and quantity.

  2. Supervision: Hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and evaluating coaches.

  3. Administrator: Responsible for all the details required of an excellent athletic program, including scheduling, CHSAA paperwork, league responsibilities, development/enforcement of policies/procedures, game management, etc.

  4. Communication/Promotion: Assuming the primary voice of Thunder Athletics in all communication with coaches, families, athletes and the broader community, including the promotion/marketing/branding through social media, news/media, and websites.

  5. Financial Leadership: Development and oversight of the athletics budget as a cost/profit center of the school; lead with innovative fundraising ideas and work with the development office to raise funds for athletics.
