Job Title: Production Expeditor

Reports to: Buyer/Planner Manager

Department: Manufacturing

Position summary: This person will coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to production schedule. Individual will coordinate with the various production groups (Operations, Planning, Maintenance, and QA) to expedite processing of material.

 
Position Requirements

Qualifications required:

  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office (specifically Work, Excel, Outlook
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate well with others and to be a team player
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Self-motivated, self-starter
  • Effective at time management and prioritization
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and meet strict deadlines
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment in a scheduling or production control function is preferred
  • MRP experience is a plus
  • IFS experience is preferred

Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to production schedule
  • Review and distribute production, work, and shipment schedules
  • Confer with department supervisors and leads to determine progress of work and completion dates
  • Compile reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems.
  • Close Shop Orders
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies
  • Expeditor will confer with department supervisors to determine critical and overdue materials
  • Responsible for monitoring daily delivery schedules against production status to meet on-time delivery of parts
  • Tracks, locates and moves critical and overdue materials to specified production areas
  • Proactively review shop orders for completeness and part availability
  • Locate and expedite shop orders within the facility
  • Group incoming and in-process material required to complete a kit
  • Cross trained in various operational functions to serve as back-up during peak workload
  • Work flexible schedule as needed (evenings, nights, weekends and holidays)
  • Report any potential food safety, legality, quality or food defense concerns to the plant manager or quality personnel
  • Follow all documented Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Maintains product safety, legality, regulatory compliance and quality systems
  • Must follow all company policies and procedures

 

Non-essential skills and experience:

  • Other duties as required
