Description

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Performs/monitors surgery procedures per written protocol as requested by physician's orders.
  • Adheres to established organizational and departmental policies, standards operating procedures, quality assessment and safety.
  • Assists pain management physician or other pain management provider.
  • Ability to interact with patients as required by departmental patient population.
  • Must process problem solving abilities, excellent customer service skills, AIDET and Patient First characteristics.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe work environment throughout the facility.
  • Assists supervisor or director in making recommendations for cost containment and quality or process improvement.
  • Knowledge or ordering and maintaining supplies from vendors or CSR.
  • Thoroughly screen, position, instruct and explain the procedure to the patient including follow up assessment.
  • Utilize ALARA and all other concepts of radiation safety.
  • Produce high quality images for proper visualization during fluoroscopic and ultrasound procedures.
  • Properly charge exams in ITS.
  • Ability to assist in taken, logged, billed and completed logs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, team atmosphere, willing to assist in all areas.
  • Performs quality assurance testing and maintains a clean environment.
  • Assists with opening and maintaining a sterile field.
  • Performs sterile technique when applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Possess knowledge of fluoroscopic and ultrasound guided procedures within 3 months of hire date.
  • Computer literate and ability to understand image archiving systems.
  • Demonstrates organization and time management skills.
  • Possess knowledge of anatomy.
  • Does not require direct supervision for technical detail, capable of independent judgement.
  • Possess knowledge and ability to work with pain management provider in the procedure environment.

Position Requirements

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: American Reg of Rad Techs (ARRT); Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR; Rad Tech (RT); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

ADDITIONAL LICENSURE/CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a Registered Radiologic Technologist in good standing with the ARRT.
  • Must hold a current valid license with the State of Indiana as a Diagnostic X-Ray Machine Operator.
  • Must be CPR certified (within 3 months of initial hire date).
  • Must be ACLS certified (within 6 months of initial hire date).
  • Must hold a valid and current Indiana State driver’s license.

ADDITIONAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Mandatory Continuing Education: Customer Service, Fire and Safety, Corporate Compliance (including Confidentiality), Infection Control, and education required by regulatory, accreditation bodies, scope of practice, and/or Hancock Regional Hospital.
