KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Obtain training and/or education towards achieving the position of Mechanical Technician.

Perform basic machine and facility repairs within the work order system and preventive maintenance systems.

Communicate necessary information relating to maintenance projects/tasks.

Perform basic troubleshooting in all areas of manufacturing.

Re-build and replace machine parts or components.
-
Build and assemble non critical parts from drawings and schematics.
-
Gain experience in the replacment of basic electrical machine components.
-
Perform basic calibrations.
-
Locate machine parts and components within the maintenance inventory system.
-
Inform appropriate employees of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.
-
Work within filing systems including work requests, catalogs, drawings and technical manuals.
-
Maintain company required machine and equipment records.
-
Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.
-
Participate in facility housekeeping and remain alert to potential hazardous conditions and situations.
-
Provide back-up support to other areas in manufacturing as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Intermediate technical aptitude.
Basic machining skills.
Basic welding skills.
Understanding and knowledge of common hand and power tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong time management skills required.
Must be able to work well individually and in a team environment.

Proficient skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel and work order tracking software.
Familiarity with AutoCAD drafting software to locate drawings and schematics needed for machine trouble shooting and repairs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Industrial maintenance degree or equivalent.
2-3 years of experience in mechanical field.
Experience with basic residential or industrial electricity.
