Position Program Manager  
Description

The Outpatient Manager provides management of the progressive partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs including staffing, budgeting, quality and utilization management. Ensures quality patient care is provided and that daily activities, policies, and procedures are implemented and accomplished. Interviews, hires, and evaluates staff performance. Responsible for coordination of services with ancillary departments. Manages transportation service to ensure quality service and outcomes with internal and external customers. Serves as point person in daily communication with the program medical director and all attending physicians as well as their physician counterparts in the community who are providing coordination of care.

 
Position Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience: Five (5) years post-graduate experience, with an emphasis on program development; supervision required.

Licensure: Professional or clinical license required e.g. LPC, LCSW or RN

Additional Requirements: CPR Certification required. Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training required during orientation. Verbal de-escalation training required annually. May require flexible hours.

 

SKILLS:

  1. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

  1. Strong interpersonal skills.

  1. Basic computer knowledge

  1. Knowledge of patient assessment, individual/family treatment methods, complex patient care planning, and treatment planning techniques.

  1. Knowledge of external review organizations, i.e., managed care, Medicare, Medicaid, and their criteria for admission.

  1. Knowledge of patients’ rights, advanced directives, adult and child abuse laws.

  1. Excellent leadership and negotiation skills.
