Share Email Opening Title Electrical Engineer 3 - Power Supply Design (2021-001)  Astronics Subsidiary AES   Location Kirkland, WA   Description JOB SUMMARY Perform the engineering development and associated support of contracted programs, Bid and Proposals and Internal Research and Development activities. Assist in new business development and follow on activities. This is a senior job level requiring leadership, strong technical skills, mentoring skills and good presentation skills. Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues. Independently applies a high degree of creative ability, engineering skill and judgment in applying engineering principles. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Contribute to and complete development projects on a mutually agreeable budget and schedule. Conduct trade studies to determine optimum approach, develop new and improve existing technologies, recommend standard topologies for specific applications Responsible for the technical aspects of design and development of power supplies and USB OUs for commercial aircraft. Resolve technical problems with a high degree of analytical expertise and originality and drive problems to resolution. Prepare and present analyses and technical rationales for your designs at internal and external reviews. Experience in meeting DO-160, Boeing, and Airbus requirements and development and support of test procedures/reports. Experience using OrCAD, SPICE, and SABER software. May provide EE team leadership on a product development or research project. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education/Experience: Electrical engineering background with a BSEE degree. Minimum qualifications:  Demonstrates competency in the essential functions of the role, typically obtained with 5 years of direct experience in power supply design similar to Astronics AES products. Preferred qualifications:  Demonstrates proficiency in the essential functions of the role, typically obtained with 7 years of direct experience in power supply design similar to Astronics AES products.     ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS Must be a US Person (under ITAR rules) to be eligible.
