The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures advances the understanding, celebration, and preservation of cinema through inclusive and accessible exhibitions, screenings, programs, initiatives, and collections. Welcoming visitors from Los Angeles and around the world, the museum works in active partnership with motion picture artists and specialists, scholars, staff, and diverse communities to contextualize and challenge dominant narratives around cinema, inspiring discourse, connection, joy, and discovery.

The Coordinator, Marketing and Communications supports the museum's marketing and communications department in the planning and execution of marketing and communication projects. You will help implement campaigns and releases, marketing partnerships, promotions, events, trafficking of assets, advertising development & email marketing initiatives.

You Will:

  • Coordinate the development of tactics for the museum priorities across all areas including paid media, press, partnership marketing projects, events, sweepstakes, internal, editorial, and commercial production shoots by submitting creative requests, managing timelines, traffic creative materials and track deadlines.
  • Assist in marketing and communication efforts including brainstorming, updating digital assets, development of proposals and program execution, including on-site activation when needed.
  • Develop briefing materials for essential staff and help train to ensure on-brand consumer communication.
  • Proactively manage asset review and creative feedback for project elements.
  • Conduct in-depth competitive research across multiple platforms and prepare internal presentations on key insights.
  • Schedule meetings and update and distribute key reports and documents such as status reports and agendas.
  • Collate and distribute daily media clips.
  • Oversee press inbox and collaborate with Communications team in fielding requests.
  • Maintain calendars, exhibition details, departmental library and files of assets.
  • Help with departmental invoice submission and related budgeting tasks, travel planning and expense reports and other marketing, communication and administrative tasks.
 
Position Requirements

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or related field.
  • 1+ years of professional marketing experience within the entertainment industry, cultural institutions or related field.
  • Passion for film as an art form and connecting with consumers in innovative and disruptive ways.
  • Ability to build relationships across multiple departments.
  • Commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience with PCs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & social media platforms.
