Position Summary: The E-Commerce Market Research and Insights Analyst will provide customer insights and proposals by analyzing data and monitoring relevant market conditions. This role will report on shopper behavior, customer perceptions and preferences to support marketing strategies and campaigns. This position will utilize various research methodologies and analytics that will benefit sales and performance targets. The Market Research and Insights Analyst will work closely with the Marketing & Category Merchandising teams to determine optimal pricing through analysis of sales trends, competitors, and buying habits to promote sales opportunities. In addition, this position may work with vendors to enhance product promotions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Communicate insights to internal stakeholders in order to drive marketing plans and new product development.
  • Develop in-depth business, analytical, and systems knowledge to improve or build analytical solutions, approaches, and recommendations.
  • Analyze Marketing promotions to understand effectiveness and margin impact
  • Analyze, Report and Implement recommendations for marketing channel overlap, attribution and visitor behavior/conversion rate across multiple websites
  • Help create customer and website visitor segments based on behaviors
  • Help audit tagging of marketing pixels and data layer and provide recommendations of data pieces we need to collect for analysis
  • Forecast models of revenue, margin & advertising spend.
  • Integrate sales and consumer data to provide summaries and insights to management on a regular basis.
  • Facilitate ongoing improvements to reporting processes and web infrastructure data mining technologies.
  • Leverage internal, industry, and marketplace data to enrich the company's understanding of consumer insights.
  • Synthesize data to uncover new insights that will ultimately affect consumer behavior. Partner across functions to analyze survey respondent data and identify trends, opportunities, and insights.
  • Use visualization (Power BI, Tableau, Excel) and analytic tools (R, SAS, JMP, Python, Spark) to demonstrate data trends from the customers' digital experience.
  • Responsible for conceptualizing, developing, and maintaining dashboards and visualizations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to test, implement, and integrate marketing tactics.
  • Develop, manage, and execute qualitative marketing research. Utilize online qualitative or in-person qualitative tools as platforms to collect insights from projects focused on user testing, user experience, or reaction to stimuli. Draw out insights from open-ended feedback collected from written and verbal (video) formats; provide concise summaries of finding and present in easy to consume ways.
  • Manage marketing research and data analytics vendor relationships.
 
Position Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Psychology/Sociology, Marketing, etc.)  or equivalent relevant experience is required. MBA/MA/MS preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in product marketing, data analysis, consumer market research, consumer insights, strategic marketing, brand management, research and analysis, advertising, and/or strategy experience required. E-commerce Industry experience is preferred.
  • 5 years’ experience with conducting primary research - design, implement and analyze qualitative and quantitative research and experience on projects building new categories or products and services.
  • 3+ years of experience using BI Tools like Tableau, Microsoft Power BI or Qlik.
  • 3+ years of experience using and analyzing data from an ERP solution like Netsuite, SAP or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • 3+ years of experience using web analytics tools/platforms (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Google Big Query).
  • 2+ years of using Customer Data Platforms like Segment.com, Blueshift, Tealium.
  • Experience managing multi-faceted analytics projects and synthesizing and presenting actionable insights from a variety of data-points and analyses.
  • Experience building and maintaining dashboard-based reporting using Tableau, R, or Python a plus.

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of information, identify issues, recommend solutions proactively, and apply problem-solving and analytical expertise
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Analyze Marketing promotions to understand effectiveness and margin impact
  • Analyze, Report and Implement recommendations for marketing channel overlap, attribution and visitor behavior/conversion rate across multiple websites
