Description

The Public Relations & Communications Manager - SurePayroll develops and manages strategic internal and external communications programs related to SurePayroll-specific or enterprise-wide projects. This role leads public and media relations to positively impact the reputation, image, and visibility of SurePayroll. The Public Relations & Communications Manager - SurePayroll is a strategic partner and advisor to SurePayroll and Paychex leaders and cross-functional partners to ensure the alignment, integration, and effective delivery of key messages, consistent with brand standards, across stakeholder constituencies.

  • Functions as the SurePayroll Marketing Communications SME and representative providing strategic advisement on communications plans related, but not limited to, business strategy, initiatives, events, calendar planning, progress and results, client and employee needs. Partners cross-functionally at SurePayroll and across the enterprise with Paychex to ensure appropriate awareness, effective integration, and alignment of strategies as necessary.
  • Develops and implements comprehensive, innovative, and engaging marketing and corporate communication strategies and content for SurePayroll designed to message targeted internal and/or external audiences in a manner that ensures accuracy, clarity, consistency, and adherence to brand standards.
  • Identifies opportunities, coordinates, and manages public exposure and media relations for SurePayroll such as media placements, interviews, events, news conferences, surveys, and other activities. When necessary, functions as spokesperson for SurePayroll or works with the appropriate resource to respond to media inquiries.
  • Partners with SurePayroll's senior leaders to serve as key communications resource and advisor for companywide initiatives.
  • Establishes and ensures all initiatives and collateral adhere to SurePayroll's communications brand standards, usability practices, policies, and procedures regarding messaging tone, format, and design.
  • Leads external and internal reputation management initiatives, including partnership with Talent Acquisition on positioning SurePayroll as a great place to work among prospective candidates.
  • In collaboration with Paychex, develops and implements comprehensive crisis communications plan, integrated with existing company's business continuity planning and reflective of all current media.
 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field. - Required
  • 8 years of experience in Corporate communications, internal communications, executive communications, public relations, or related field. Must be able to communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  • 5 years of experience in Technology, finance, and/or employee benefit services is helpful. .
  • Demonstrates written communication skills.
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to build strong customer relationships.
  • Demonstrates excellent judgment and decision making skills.
  • Ability to drive multiple projects to successful completion.
  • Ability to influence internal and/or external constituents.
