Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for repair, test, calibration and installation of laser systems, sub-systems and/or sub-assemblies
  • Report to management any potential problems which could impact timely completion of assigned tasks, equipment shortcomings, and more complex equipment problems
  • Maintain complete and accurate service records
  • Interact with customers and monitor accounts
  • Provide on-site technical support to customers as required
  • May require travel—contingent on customer need
  • Other duties and responsibilities as directed
  • The critical skills that we are looking for include:
  • Customer facing skills i.e. telephone interactions, field service experience
  • Lasers and Electro-Optical components experience i.e. alignment, maintenance and support

Position Requirements

The candidate selected will be/have:

  • An experienced Field Service Engineer
  • Complete understanding of the optical, electrical and mechanical side of the business yet has a significant amount of customer facing experience
  • Commitment to maintaining professional interactions in all communication—
  • written and verbal
  • Familiarity with computers—Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Continually develops positive relations within Sales and Service teams and customer relations
  • Continually develops company and product knowledge
  • Working knowledge of customer needs in a medical environment
  • Understand product alignment and certification to specification
  • Demonstrate familiarization with basic laser technology and applications
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must ensure high output level and be able to multitask
  • Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree in electronics at a minimum
  • 5-10 years related field service experience in troubleshooting medical laser equipment
  • Technically oriented with hands-on laser technical experience preferred
