Share Email Opening Title Brewer  Description Job Summary: As a brewer you will be responsible for monitoring and carrying out brew house, fermenting filtration, blending processes and operations in the execution of the daily work schedule in a safe, timely and efficient manner. You will represent and promote Cape May Brewery in a positive manner to guests, local residents and the general public. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities: Lead by example in upholding the Company's Core Values and promoting a positive and constructive working environment Perform all brew house procedures, including milling malt, mashing in brews, monitoring boils in the wort kettle, transferring to fermenters, and pitching yeast Cleaning and sanitizing all equipment used in the brew house and cellar Keeping accurate records of all brewing procedures including temperature and flow monitoring Sensory analysis of various products Follow inventory procedures for all raw materials and assist with inventory counts as requested Ensure that the brew house and surrounding areas are clean and organized Perform routine equipment maintenance and communicate any equipment issues to the QA Manager in a timely manner Constantly strive for improvement by looking for ways to make things better, safer, faster or by reducing costs When needed, assist with accepting deliveries and other warehousing operations Assist in other areas of the brewery on an as-needed basis   Position Requirements Qualifications: 21 years of age or older High School diploma or equivalent (GED) Experience in brewing beer Special Requirements: Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with all team peers and staff Excellent problem solving/troubleshooting ability Physical and Mental Requirements: Standing for long periods of time Squatting, crouching, bending, kneeling Twisting Climbing stairs/ladders Repetitive movements Lifting up to 60 lbs. unassisted and up to 160 lbs. assisted Manually manipulating parts, pumps and hoses Pushing and pulling heavy loads Access, input, and retrieve information from a computer Regularly required to reach with arms and hands Required to handle objects, tools and controls Use of heavy machinery, including hand pallet jacks and forklift operation Working individually and as a team Working under time pressure Encountering frequent interruptions Using effective verbal communication Environmental Conditions: Working in hot and cold temperatures Working on uneven surfaces and wet conditions Handling hazardous chemicals Working around noisy machinery Working on or around ladders   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt   EOE Statement We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
