Directly supervises the Day and Night Leads plus additional seasonal laborers. Indirectly supervises approximately 10 Dock Workers/Drivers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Plans, assigns and directs the work of the Day and Night Leads. Monitors and evaluates performance.
Trains employees in equipment usage, procedures and policies.
Opens and closes dock daily.
Open and closes tank farm valve system.
PIC in the event of a fuel spill, deploying booms and assigning tasks.
Act as Facility Security Officer.
Greets boats and coordinates work assignments.
Ensures pipelines are clear of weeds and other obstructions.
Checks hoses for damage daily.
Ensures dock and yard are clean and organized, meeting all regulatory and safety requirements.
Deploy booms in the event of a fuel spill.
In the absence of Dock Workers/Drivers, may provide fuel to vessel customers, ensuring safe fueling of the vessels.
May provide back-up fuel delivery to home heating customers, Powerhouse and other customers.
Provide backup coverage for Tankfarm Operator (quality control, documents, barges, transfers, inventory).
Conduct crew training as needed.
Responsible for safety gear and PPE for crew, placing orders when necessary.
Work with Management Committee on annual facility and security inspection with Coast Guard.
Follows DOT Regulations.
Participates in safety meetings and reports all injuries, spills and property damage. Identifies and communicates job hazards. Informs management of safety, environmental, and mechanical concerns in a timely manner.
