About the Job
Serve as sole human resources representative to Utah staff. Provide training and leadership to Utah staff. Ensure internal compliance to proper processes. Function effectively as part of the management team by demonstrating the ability and willingness to achieve department goals while remaining in compliance with all policies and procedures. Learn all phases of corporate culture and proper policies and procedures per the Urban Park Concessionaires Operations Manual and Corporate HR Director.
Work with leadership to support the hiring, processing, and training of employees for Utah Recreation Company. Work with corporate HR Director as required or requested.
Your Qualifications
Two years of accredited college/university plus 3+ years progressive human resources experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 3 years of recent experience in a supervisory role.
Ability to demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of labor and HR concepts, techniques, and principles.
Recruiting experience is preferred
Possess a high level of computer literacy
Possess a high level of knowledge in labor laws/rules/payroll
Essential Functions
EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
Each year, you will recruit for, onboard, provide HR services for, and offboard a seasonal staff of around 200 employees.
We do have around a 72% rehire rate among seasonal staff, so you’ll typically only need to recruit for around 50-60 seasonal employees after bringing back our rehires.
About 90% of our 2021 seasonal staff have already been hired.
A seasonal administrative assistant can help you with processing onboarding/offboarding paperwork.
You will meet with all new hires for onboarding/orientation, and will coordinate their training with managers and supervisors.
You will ensure, through managers /supervisors, that employees follow established policies and procedures, and that all activities are compliant with any applicable laws, regulations or other established requirements.
Maintain ongoing employee training and documentation and ensures that all positions have trained back-ups, in conjunction with department heads.
Maintain and ensure all documentation regarding employment laws are updated and readily available to all employees.
Coordinate with managers/directors/supervisors on personnel issues; document for disciplinary actions as well as employee performance incentives.
Conducts employee investigations, in conjunction with department heads, as deemed necessary according to event or action which has occurred or may occur.
Facilitates the processing of employee department transfers, raises, and status changes in the level of employment, in conjunction with management.
Maintains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system of past and current records.
PAYROLL
Seasonal staff will all turn in timecards, which you will be responsible for entering into our payroll system (U-Attend) either weekly or semi-monthly (your choice).
A seasonal administrative clerk can assist you with timecard entries.
Manage and monitor all payroll and time record audits
Submit semi-monthly payroll reports to the corporate payroll department, according to payroll deadlines.
Work with department managers, directors and supervisors to understand their labor budgets and schedule to it and business requirements
