Our vision is to get God's Word to every person, and we do this by recording Audio Bibles in every language and freely sharing them using the latest technology. We currently offer recordings in more than 1000 languages spoken by nearly 6 billion people around the world. The presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the work of regeneration.   Position Product Owner   Category Language Recording   Description The role of the Product Owner is to support the ministry of Faith Comes By Hearing by shepherding software product(s) through the conceptualization, design, development, release, and maintenance process. The person in this position will work closely with department managers, stakeholders and development teams to support the mission of FCBH.   Position Requirements Responsibilities include: Product conceptualization and design: Understand core values guiding development of multiple softwares, including needs of target user Serve as Product Owner on assigned product(s), making decisions on design, functionality and work prioritization, in consultation with design and development teams as beneficial, and in accordance with core values Responsible for maintaining healthy working relationships and communications with both stakeholders and software development teams Guide product development with internal and external partners Lead the conceptualization process and roadmap for these products with input from stakeholders and software development team as appropriate Ensure timely and reliable releases of the software products Maintain organized and up-to-date list of potential product features Prioritize software development goals and communicate those goals effectively to the programming team Interpret communication and feedback from programming team (both internal and outside companies as needed) on development goals, applying feedback to goals Attend relevant development meetings regularly Solicit and receive feedback from users and partner organizations regarding the softwares, including feature requests, interpret feedback from users and partner organizations, incorporating it appropriately Use issue tracking tools to create issues, organize into well-groomed backlog and sprints, and ensure that issue acceptance criteria clearly and correctly communicate the required software behavior and appearance changes to the development team Keep records of all releases, including features and known issues Communicate relevant information regarding releases, including features and issues, to appropriate parties, including department managers, the Product Owner Lead and leadership as needed Approve design mockups and ensure mockups are attached to appropriate issues Software set-up, testing and demonstrations: Coordinate Alpha and Beta testing, involving communication with local host sites (e.g. churches) and community participants Update Department Manager regularly regarding state of software Give software demos internally and to visitors and partners, as needed Additional Responsibilities: Participate in appropriate ongoing professional development Competencies: Strategic thinking Communication skills Collaboration skills Organization skills Attention to detail and consistency Timeliness Comfortable learning and using technology Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion Qualifications: Required: Competent with Microsoft Office software including Outlook Time spent working on an agile team or related experience Preferred: Familiarity with linguistics and Bible translation Familiarity with orality Conversant in additional language(s) beyond English 1+ year of Product Ownership role on an agile team Experience with software testing PMI-ACP (Project Management Institute Agile Certified Practitioner) or equivalent certification Preferred Education and Experience: Degree in a related field of study from a college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.   Location Faith Comes By Hearing   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Exempt/Non-Exempt Exempt   Number of Openings 1   Req Number LAN-20-00001   Open Date 12/18/2020   This position is currently not accepting applications.
