The Academy Member and Talent Relations Manger will build and sustain relationships with members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences—film artists and industry professionals from around the world. These relationships are critical to fulfilling our desire to create a museum that is a place of dialogue and co-creation with film artists, technicians, and our wider community.

Reporting to the Director of Board and Community Relations, you will directly commnunicate with Academy members and other artists and collaborators, work in partnership with Academy membership and talent relations staff as needed, facilitate the work of advisory committees and task forces comprised of Academy members, create Academy member engagement opportunities, handle talent requests, plan events, field requests from Academy members and related organizations, and lead cross-departmental initiatives.

You Will:

  • In collaboration with the Director of Board and Community Relations, support partnerships with Academy members for exhibitions, public and other educational programs, screenings, events, digital initiatives, marketing and communications needs, and more
  • Steward relationships with Academy members and maintain the member database
  • Liaise with museum and Academy colleagues to ensure effective handling of Academy member requests and issues
  • Work with departments across the organization on Academy member-related projects
  • Make direct asks of Academy members and other talent partners and track all requests
  • Conduct evaluations of Academy member initatives and report on findings in writing, verbally, and through presentations
 
Position Requirements

You Have:

  • 3+ years’ experience leading member and/or talent relations at a non-profit organization or related organization
  • 5+ years’ experience working collaboratively with a team and motivating staff
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Project management and planning skills
  • Experience budgeting and tracking spending
  • The ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
