Description

Astronics-PECO, located in Clackamas, Oregon, designs and manufactures highly engineered commercial aerospace interior components and systems for the aerospace industry. We specialize in Passenger Service Units (PSUs) which incorporate air handling, emergency oxygen, electrical power management and cabin lighting systems. We also manufacture a wide range of fuel tank access doors that meet stringent strength, fuel sealing and anti-corrosion requirements.

SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of this position is to manage and grow new and existing accounts with a focus on aerospace and defense customers. Knowledge of Government contracting procedures relating to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) clauses, such as The Truth in Negotiation Act (TINA), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and others is desired.

This position may also require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation and this position may be responsible for the performance of various functions that may be an integral part of the Company’s overall SOX / 404 internal control structure.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

May include the following; other duties may be assigned.

  • Focus on managing new and existing customer accounts within our Precision or Aerospace Manufacturing Business (Die casting, injection molding, CNC, finishing, assembly).
  • Liaise between the customer and PECO. Represent the voice of the customer internally to other PECO personnel and departments.
  • Work cross-functionally to manage, develop, and complete Request for Quote (RFQ) Proposals for customers.
  • Ensure on-time customer delivery by actively managing dispatch lists and working with internal departments.
  • Evaluate data to monitor overall performance for production and standards.
  • Ability to read/interpret/understand customer drawings and manufacturing plans.
  • Provide input and participate in the marketing, planning and technical development of products and services.
  • Develop and deliver professional presentations to customers that focus on the benefits of PECO products and speak directly to customer needs.
  • Maintain an up to date working knowledge of newly developing technologies and manufacturing practices.
  • Maintain an up to date knowledge of trends relative to the markets PECO serves including competition, changes in the business climate, emerging needs, and changes in customer business strategy.
  • Identify opportunities and implement processes to improve on-time delivery and reduce quality rejects.
  • Observe safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

No direct supervisory responsibilities but will and may manage multiple distributors.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business with additional technical training or Engineering field.
  • Five years of field technical/industrial sales experience; experience selling contract manufacturing services preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large and small accounts.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and explain technical drawings and data.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing quality systems and the ability to interpret and explain data.
  • Strong presentation skills and an ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in all MS Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess a valid driver’s license.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is intermittently exposed to the outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, building temperature fluctuation, dust, chemicals, odors and low to moderate levels of noise.

Other conditions may include frequent interruptions, working alone, working long hours during peak periods and exposure to computer CRTs. Safety glasses and hearing protection are required at times.

Position may require up to 20% travel.
