Position Site Manager - Environmental Center  
Description

Is your dream job working out in Nature or are you seeking your next career?  We have a fantastic opportunity for you to accomplish just that!  1,000 Islands Environmental Center is currently seeking a part-time Site Manager that is responsible for maintenance in our Conservancy Zone here in Kaukauna!

The site manager performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks or other related work.  Primary work functions will be in the area of building and trail maintenance.  Employee will implement invasive species and property management plans.  The position requires the ability to work with and assist all other positions as necessary.  Directly supervises volunteers and community service individuals working on maintenance projects occasionally required.

This position is 20 hours per week.  Standard hours are Monday - Thursday 8:00a.m. - 1:30p.m.  One week a month the hours change to Monday - Wednesday 8:00a.m. - 1:30p.m. and Saturday 10:00a.m. - 3:30p.m.  There will be some flexibility needed  during the week, evenings and weekends for center needs and special events.

 
Position Requirements

We are seeking someone who is skilled in/or has working knowledge of:

  • Tools, equipment, methods and practices used in building and grounds maintenance work.
  • Invasive species and management techniques, including herbicide application.
  • The ability to diagnose and repair most building maintenance requirements, including routine system maintenance.
  • The ability to work well with volunteers and general public.

Education Desired:

  • Bachelor or Associate degree in Natural Resources Management, Park Management or similar field or 3 years’ experience in maintenance and management of public use nature facilities.
