Buyer, Indirect Materials and Services

DESCRIPTION

  • Continuously develop, execute, and enhance commodity strategy for Indirect Materials and Services as assigned.
  • Continuously enhance purchasing expertise and knowledge of market prices and trends.
  • Execute comprehensive RFQ process and support functional users in timely manner.
  • Pursue systematic cost reductions and report savings to the corporate office on a regular basis as assigned.
  • Negotiate (re-negotiate) agreements and purchase orders minimum 30 days prior to expiration.
  • Perform necessary purchase order maintenance and follow up, support purchasing objective of processing 98% of purchasing requisitions within 10 days.
  • Draft supplier contracts and Service Agreements, conduct legal reviews as assigned.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, resolve supplier issues, and monitor suppliers’ performance in the areas of cost, service, quality and delivery.
  • Support general business activities and requirements of Functional groups, carry out other duties as assigned.
  • Communicate and cooperate with the Supply Chain Management Organization as a whole.

 

 
Position Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED

  • Expertise and knowledge of supply base in the specialized field of Services procurement
  • Expertise and knowledge of commodities: Machinery and Equipment
  • Experience with commodity strategies
  • Expertise in legal contract negotiations and risk management
  • Excellent communication skills with emphasis on formal presentations
  • Effective interpersonal skills with emphasis on customer service
  • Effective and consistent follow-up skills and multi-tasking and project management abilities
  • Demonstrated negotiation, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Travel required to support local Purchasing activities.

PREFERRED

  • Experience with Plex
  • Expertise and knowledge of commodities: IT, SG&A, Professional Services, MRO, Facilities
 
Education Requirement University degree in Business, Purchasing, or Finance, and 5+ years of experience in Purchasing, Fluent in Business English, both written and spoken
