The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures furthers the understanding, celebration, and preservation of cinema through inclusive and accessible exhibitions, screenings, programs, and collections. Welcoming visitors from Los Angeles and around the world, the Museum works in active partnership with motion picture artists and specialists, scholars, staff, and diverse communities to contextualize and challenge dominant narratives around cinema, inspiring discourse, connection, joy, and discovery.

Under the guidance of the Manager of Advancement Services, the Database Specialist oversees the Museum Advancement activity in the Academy Museum database and related processes. You will develop strategies to maximize the capabilities of the software and provide support in membership, development, and operations.

You Will:

  • Oversee the integrity of the database
  • Maintain the daily operations of the Advancement activity in the database while enhancing the accuracy of the data
  • Create and distribute periodic and recurring Advancement-related financial reports and dashboards
  • Work with Finance to reconcile Advancement revenue
  • Develop database standards guide including policy and procedures
  • Oversee all aspects of gift administration, including Museum memberships, pledge invoicing, and acknowledgement generation and signature process
  • Ensure all gifts are processed in accordance with industry best practices and IRS guidelines
  • Design, differentiate, and update gift acknowledgments based on multiple giving levels
  • Manage entry and updating of all gift and demographic information related to all our members
  • Cross-train in multiple aspects of Advancement team support
  • Develop and organize training for department users
  • Implement best practices in information management
  • Oversee maintenance of development files and shared drive
 
Position Requirements

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1+ years experience with database administration, specifically Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack
  • Awareness of confidentiality standards and the Donor Bill of Rights
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effectiveness in managing multiple tasks
  • Familiarity in working with people from diverse backgrounds while promoting an environment of inclusion
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends
