Position Summary: The START Assistant Director position is responsible for administration, management, and clinical oversight of the Regional NC START Central Program in partnership with the Director of NC START Central.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Coordinates operations of clinical team, resource center, and in-home supports.
  • Establishes community linkages, partnerships and collaboration opportunities in conjunction with the Director.
  • Directly supervises Clinical Team Leads.
  • Identifies and coordinates necessary trainings for team members.
  • Coordinates clinical services in collaboration with the Clinical Director.
  • Ensure the collection of required data and documentation on consumer access and
    utilization of START services according to National Certification requirements.
  • Collaborates with other members of the START leadership team to monitor quality of
    START service delivery and assures fidelity to the START model.
  • Based on feedback of clinical teams, identifies training/support needs of the community.
  • Coordinate community trainings with the Clinical Director
  • Provides support as needed to clinical team and resource center 24/7/365.
  • Supports Clinical Director in the coordination and implementation of the START Coordinator Certification process for START Coordinators.
  • Maintains referral list and assists in coordinating the assignment of cases.
  • Oversees the hiring of new staff on the Clinical Team.
  • Oversees the training of new START Coordinators.
 
Position Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited college/university with a Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or closely related field.
• Preferred current NC license as an LPC, LCSW, LMFT or related field, or currently pursuing licensure.
• A minimum of a master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling or other human
• service field with 2 years' experience working with people with IDD and behavioral health needs
• Prior supervisory experience
• Must be a certified START coordinator or have the ability to complete the START
Coordinator certification process within 6-12 months of hiring
• Prior experience as START clinical team leader preferred.
