IT Support Tech Apprentice 

Description

Position reports to IT Support Manager. Answers end users support calls and initiates process for problem resolution. Logs all support issues in Track-It! database. Provides first level of support. Resolves issues that are within their capabilities. Assigns issues to other Information Systems staff as is deemed necessary by established procedures or policies. Maintains support scripts in electronic form and paper form. Documents all incoming computer equipment/software inventory file. Places orders for equipment and software as needed, including creation of purchase order, notification of vendor, notification of IS staff and follow through of delivery of product. Finalizes actions necessary for vendor replacement of defective equipment as instructed by IS staff. Assists Unisys Administration and Support and Network Administration and Support in security administration. Maintains files for organization of Information Systems activities. Keeps up with industry trends for commodities.

 
Position Requirements

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Computer related experience preferred. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers. Must possess good oral/written communication skills.

 
Physical/Environmental Requirements Mobility to work in typical office settings using standard office equipment is required. In addition, vision to read printed materials and computer screen and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
