Our History

eMDs was founded in 1996 by David Winn, MD, a board-certified family practice physician with a very strong business background who understood the value of having an integrated practice management system which helped physicians focus on patients while optimizing practice financials. Dr. Winn was dissatisfied with offerings on the market, and set out to create his own. The eMDs clinic was first implemented in 1998. Using our own practice management system meant we fully understood what it takes to create the perfect EHR system and why the company built our reputation upon being a highly usable system.

Summary of Job:

Responsible for following up on previously submitted payer enrollment applications and demographic updates for all eligible provider types. Clearly communicates feedback to Account Manager and provides written summaries of responses. Reports to Director of Credentialing and CVO.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Completes a high volume of phone calls to various insurance plans.
  • Confirm provider information with commercial and managed care plans via phone or email.
  • Maintain database by documenting payer feedback and responses
  • Perform some clerical functions and projects as assigned
  • Handles phone calls and emails professionally and effectively
  • Strong verbal and communication skills are required to resolve payer related issues
  • Capable of meeting project deadlines and communicates any projected delays
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements


  • Understanding of payer provider enrollment process
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize work and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers, management, staff, and contacts outside the organization.
  • Must demonstrate effective communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
