Interiors Product Engineer

DESCRIPTION

  • Lead the design and engineering of vehicle interior components / modules. 
  • Define design requirements using internal templates.
  • Support integration of components to meet specifications / requirements.
  • Responsible for Design Reviews - Run meetings, track open issues: drive timely issue closure.
  • Participate in build events; develop timely design / engineering solutions to solve issues.
  • Lead technical quotes.
  • Work effectively in a team environment with a cross-functional team: design, tooling, CAE, quality, manufacturing, financial, purchasing, sales.
  • Develop/maintain timing plans.
  • Issue change requests and provide request for quotes (RFQ’s) to Inteva Purchasing.
  • Release math data and drawings to schedule.
  • Establish effective communications (written and verbal) between customer, internal groups and suppliers.
  • Responsible for meeting all financial, quality and performance requirements.
  • Develop and release bill of materials (BoM) in Inteva systems. 
  • Generate and implement cost savings ideas.
  • Manage validation activities to project schedule and maintain records.

Required

  • Vehicle Interior Engineering experience: Minimum of five (5) years experience in instrument panels, floor consoles or door trim.
  • Cross functional experience in Product Engineering, Materials Engineering, Validation and Manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of injection molding, thermoforming processes and olefin materials.
  • NX CAD Design and/or Catia experience in Instrument Panels and interior trim – proven track record of success
  • Working craftsmanship experience: color/grain/gloss
  • Energetic personality / high passion for success.
  • Excellent organization and planning skills.
  • Creative problem solving skills & self starting: Work effectively with others, high results orientation.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple complex tasks.
  • Ability to travel as needed: domestic and international.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project.
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • Fluent in German and English

 

Preferred

  • Multiple Vehicle Interior products engineering experience (Instrument panels, door trim, floor consoles, garnish, etc…).
  • Cockpit integration experience.
  • Vehicle Interior Products launch experience.
  • Six Sigma training/certified.
