The Human Resources / Payroll Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of HR, payroll and benefit functions. This position will be responsible for providing payroll and benefit services by processing payroll, answering payroll/benefit questions, initiating and maintaining employee benefit coverage information and personnel records, recruiting, employee relations, etc.. In addition, special projects will be assigned as needed.

This position is exempt.

HR / Payroll Responsibilities

  • Recruiting 
  • HR System – maintaining employee data in the HR system to include compensation data, position, employment status, benefit enrollments, etc.
  • Employee Relations 
  • Policy/Procedure Guidance
  • Employee/Employee Records
  • FMLA
  • Unemployment
  • Workers Compensation
  • Participate in Weekly HR Team Meetings
  • Other HR Projects
  • Safety
  • Processing payroll – semi-monthly, monthly commission and bonus, and employee updates in Ascentis
  • Submit 401k contribution report for funding
  • Reconcile monthly billing statements against payroll deductions
  • Assist HR team in dealing with employees who may have benefit claim issues or concerns.
  • Monthly benefit invoice reconciliation
  • Report Workers’ Compensation claims and audits.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
  • Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
  • Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
  • Execute Ascentis/NovaTime time and attendance processing and interface with payroll
  • Perform compliances for unclaimed property payroll checks
  • Provide financial and operational reporting as needed
  • Process manual checks
  • Update and reconcile monthly bank statements
  • Review and approve HR/Payroll transactions prior to processing payroll
  • Research and email appropriate audience of file issues
  • Auditing and approving Benefit provider invoices
  • Posting payroll to the General Ledger (CDK)
  • Projects as assigned
 
Position Requirements
  • Payroll Experience (Ascentis a plus)
  • Proficient in wage and hour regulations
  • Proficiency with CDK DMS.
  • Some knowledge of various employment laws and practices
  • Experience in administration of benefits, a plus
  • Excellent computer skills, including Word and Excel in a Microsoft Windows environment
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent phone and interpersonal skills
  • Must exhibit a high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must be able to identify problems and bring to manager’s attention in a timely manner
  • Must be able to gather and analyze information skillful
  • Must be able to clear background and drug screen.



QUALIFICATIONS ·

  • High school diploma or GED required; some post high school education or training preferred
  • Three years of relevant experience
  • Two years of Payroll: experience
  • Working knowledge of CDK Dealer Management System
  • Excellent telephone skills
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Helpful attitude and friendly demeanor
  • Highly professional and dependable
  • Strong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of the industry
  • Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
  • Must have prior Automotive experience
