Position Summary: The IT Help Desk Specialist is a single point of contact for end-users to receive support and maintenance within the organization’s desktop computing environment. This individual is responsible for installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all Mac/PC hardware to ensure optimal workstation performance. The person will also troubleshoot problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end-user assistance where required.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for all users globally. First and second level support in areas such as: desktop and laptop hardware, phone, mobile devices, printing, operating systems (OSX and Windows), support applications (Such as Office, Adobe, ERP, etc.), troubleshooting issues, and assisting users in installing applications.
  • Act as the main point of contact for the IT Help Desk. This includes ensuring tickets are completed in a timely manner, all assigned tickets and required fields are filled out, and that closed tickets have appropriate information attached.
  • Create, modify, and delete user accounts, phone accounts, mailboxes, voicemail, and VPN.
  • Setup and configuration of desktop systems for users such as: imaging systems, connecting network drives, installing printers, and setting up mobile devices.
  • Proactively ensure that users’ systems are running the latest versions/patches of software both for operating systems and applications.
  • Setup equipment for employee use, including installing operating systems and software.
  • Inventory management of hardware (PCs, Macs, servers, other peripherals) and software (license management).
  • Evaluate the needs of the company regarding the purchase of new computer equipment, hardware, and software and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Install new hardware components in the desktop.
  • Setup network connections in the company and ensure that all the desktops are mapped to appropriate drives.
  • Validate software and hardware compatibility.
  • Train internal and field users on the utilization of new software or hardware.
  • Work with outside vendors for hardware or software specific issues.
  • Run and analyze daily operational reports.
  • All other duties as assigned by direct Supervisor.
