Job Overview

Under the supervision of the CEO, provide behavior analysis services and behavior management plans for special education students enrolled in educational programs; provide support and professional learning to school site staff, associate teachers, and parents / guardians in appropriate behavior intervention techniques; conducts assessments and assists in maintaining clinical integrity of STEPS program . Provides oversight and leadership to the clinical team and will provide support to design, execute and assess systems for the clinical team to promote fidelity and progress in clinical programming and integrity .

Essential Accountabilities

  • Provide BCBA services for students as needed in classrooms and / or designated classroom

  • Develop materials, training and provide resources for and provide professional learning to administrators, intervention specialists, associate teachers and parents/guardians in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and and/or other evidence-based methodologies related to addressing the needs of students with behavior difficulties.

  • Plan and oversee the development and implementation of programs, policies, and best practices related to instruction using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for students with autism and other disabilities.

  • Create, design systems and assist staff with the development and implementation of functional behavioral assessments for individual students.

  • Create, design systems and assist staff with the development and implementation of behavior plans, ABA clinical programs and other appropriate programs for students diagnosed with Autism and/or other disabilities..

  • Manage and assist staff with appropriate crisis prevention strategies

  • Administer and assist Staff with assessments including VB-MAPP, ABLLS, AFLLS and Essentials for Living

  • Implement, conduct and assist staff with data collection, review, and modify treatment according to data

  • Create and modify Individualized Treatment Plans for each child on caseload as needed to facilitate Natural Environment Training and intensive teaching

  • Train Assistant Teachers and IS's on ABA and child's program and initial RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) training and supervision

  • Directly observe and coach staff on behavior plan intervention and teaching using behavioral methods

  • Communicate effectively with co-workers, staff,and student guardians / parents

  • Review documentation and data collection and provide feedback as needed

  • Confer with members the IEP team and staff and other related team members, individually, at an IEP meeting, or in conference, to exchange, discuss, and evaluate student information for planning, and modifying , and coordination of treatment programs.

  • Prepare and conduct Staff Performance and program reviews with Director of Educational Services for possible changes and updates to program

  • Attend various meetings (IEP, Clinical Team, and any other meeting as directed)

  • Provide supervision to BCBA candidates as outlined in the BCBA supervision contract • Work and assist staff with students who exhibit inappropriate behaviors and provide support and professional learning for staff who work with students who exhibit such.

  • Provide professional training and conduct FBA's and BIP's for students with complex and/or severe behaviors in accordance with both Federal and State laws and regulations

  • Provide services to the designated classroom while working cooperatively with the Intervention Specialist and team supports

  • Facilitate, establish and maintain the structure and schedule of the designated classroom

  • Collaborate with Intervention Specialist on programming for students as defined in students IEP and in accordance with designated assessment results and relevant data

  • Establish and maintain classroom systems to ensure naturalistic learning opportunities are accessible to students and team is maximizing learning opportunities for all students

  • Supervise BCBA candidates with approval from CEO

  • Assist assigned students who are transitioning into Steps program and/or delegate transitions among the clinical team.

  • Collaborate with agencies to offer programs that foster pro-social skill and prevent behaviors for the purpose of providing services to strengthen families as well as students

  • Maintain the integrity of STEPS Educational Model across classrooms

  • Experience with Central Reach billing to support the needs of the classroom and staff

  • Coordinate and conduct supervision of students that are utilizing insurance for billing purposes

  • Maintain professionalism and demonstrate effective leadership skills in managing clinical team responsiblities

  • Collaborate with Director of Steps Academy for day to day operations

  • Complete any and all other duties as assigned<

 
Position Requirements

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Education, Behavior Analysis or related field

  • Certification from the BACB

  • Experience working with Applied Behavior Analysis and Verbal Behavior.

  • Ability to design effective programs for diverse children.

  • Candidate must possess strong time management skills, organizational skills.

  • Excellent observation and analytical skills.

  • Candidate must have the ability to problem solve.

  • Available to work extended hours to have meetings with parents.

  • Valid Ohio Special Education Teaching Certificate/License to teach children with disabilities.

  • Must be able to be compliant with ODE and ODJFS.

  • Completion of criminal background check

    Work Environment

    Position requires physical interaction with students who may display physically aggressive behaviors.

    Physical Demands

    Must be able to use a variety of equipment for children with special needs. Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment. Must occasionally lift, move and/or support up to 50 pounds (and/or up to adult size body weight with two-to-three person lift).
