Position Summary:
The community mental health nurse is a professional who works in collaboration with an interdisciplinary clinical team to provide specialized support to families and clients who are experiencing mental health challenges, some of which can include anxiety, depression, personality, substance use disorders, and other co-occurring IDD/MH/SU. The community mental health nurse will coordinate medical care services, including client education and population management, and work with an interdisciplinary team to ensure the quality of whole-person health care. Under the direction of the clinical team, the nurse will develop, revise, and maintain medication protocols, policies, and procedures. The nurse will record and administer psychotropic medications as prescribed. The nurse will evaluate and chart psychotropic medication effectiveness, complications, and side effects.
