Description

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee a comprehensive safety program.
  • Hold consistent and informative tailgate meetings with all departments in which safety risks to the employees and guests are identified and solutions or preventative actions can be identified.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Director of Risk on key safety related initiatives.
  • Track work related claims and implement improved work processes to prevent similar claims in the future.
  • Review work/task processes in various departments to preemptively identify possible risks to the work force
  • Enforce rules within the property for guests and month to month stays.
  • Review all risks within the property.
  • Notify month to month residents of rules violations and track compliance with rules
  • Oversee staff of safety team representatives who during their shift inspect and offer assistance to arriving guests.
  • Be responsible for a spirit of proactive hospitality in the workplace
  • Be responsible for employee engagement and instilling positive morale as it relates to safety.
  • Be a professional representative of Basecamp Hospitality and lead by example.
  • Complete incident reports and follow up with communication to guest, employee, and corporate staff.
 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Must be able to determine why accidents occur and what corrective measures to implement.
  • Must have comprehension and experience in complying with OSHA and Environmental Health standards and laws.
  • Aptitude to be creative in developing positive reinforcement of safety measures to sustain a safety culture.
  • Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and with an organized style is essential.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License with a clean 3-year history and no DUI convictions in the past 10 years.
  • Be a willing member of Basecamp Hospitality, performing all duties and functions as assigned to the best of his/her ability.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

The Safety Supervisor will use various equipment on a daily basis. Footwear required shall be a high quality closed toe shoe providing ankle support. No open toe sandals or flip-flops will be allowed on the job. The Risk and Training manager will be knowledgeable in the safety practices and standards set by the Company, relative to the work environment he/she operates in. He/she will also make it a duty to assure that all employees are working with those same safety practices and standards.

The nature of the job may require the employee to be exposed to potential risks associated with the worksite. The employee should always use the appropriate personal protective equipment required for the environment, i.e., eye protection, hard hats, hearing protection, gloves, footwear, etc. Additionally, driving conditions can be hazardous, particularly in rural areas and seasonal conditions.
