Share Email Opening Title Electrical Mechanical Project Technician  Category Maintenance   Description JOB DESCRIPTION   POSITION TITLE: Mechanical Project Technician   TEAM: Maintenance   BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of, and reporting to the Maintenance Process Manager, the Electrical Project Technician is responsible for the timely completion of electrical and mechanical projects/tasks and facilitation of training maintenance team employees. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Communicate necessary information relating to maintenance projects/tasks. Perform equipment and facility repairs within the work order system and preventive maintenance systems. Facilitate cross training on electrical and mechanical repairs, modifications and machine operations. Work with process managers, crew leads, and master scheduler as needed to schedule maintenance projects/task. Facilitate cross training on electrical repairs, modifications and machine operations. Perform advanced troubling and repairs as needed for machine and equipment problems. Schedule contractors as necessary to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on production machines and related equipment. Repair, replace and refurbish all electrical units and damaged parts, ensuring proper function. Read electrical drawings and schematics, planning all work processes accordingly. Use and handle electrical testing and repair equipment. Provide technical assistance and help create resolution when electrical problems are encountered. Assemble electrical and electronic systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments. Install and maintain electrical control systems and solid state equipment. Set-up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies or systems under simulated operating conditions, and record results. Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures. Inform appropriate process managers and employees of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved. Participate in facility housekeeping and remain alert to potential hazardous conditions and situations. Maintain company required machine and equipment records. Provide back-up support as needed Perform other duties as assigned.     Position Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Ability to identify technical malfunctions in electrical units. Ability to effectively manage time and complete all task assigned. Strong technical aptitude. Thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes. Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel individually and in a team environment. Must be able to interface and communicate with line operators in order to assist with repairs and troubleshooting. Must be highly safety conscious. Computer experience necessary.
