The Columbia Group is seeking a Business Development Manager (BDM) for our NAVSEA programs. Reporting directly to the company Chief Operating Officer (COO), provides expertise in building business with NAVSEA, particularly under the SeaPort NxG contract vehicle.
The NAVSEA Business Development Manager will identify new business opportunities and work with the COO and divisional leaders develop and implement capture planning. The BDM may from time-to-time act as proposal manager.
The position may be located in Fairfax, VA, Washington, DC or Alexandria, VA. We expect weekly travel to one or more of the other locations once the current restrictions on in-person meetings are lifted. The successful candidate will also travel to visit customers, potential customers, and potential team partners. We expect travel outside the DC Metropolitan Area approximately once per quarter. This frequency could increase as the company grown.
RESPONSIBILITES INCLUDE:
- Assess bid qualification, perform capture planning, be a primary POC for customer engagement, analyze bid strategy, and assist in proposal management.
- Coordinate meetings with customers, competitors, clients, and teammates to develop market insight on requirements, acquisition strategy, acquisition timing, and contract vehicle choices.
- Participate in business planning activities, to include periodic pipeline reviews, opportunity gate reviews, black hat sessions, win theme and discriminator workshops, and proposal reviews.
- Manage proposals.
- Support recruiting of personnel to fill open positions on new and exsiting contracts.
- Collaborate with other business development personnel, line managers, and project managers to support cross enterprise objectives and customer engagement.
- Generate and deliver new business.
