The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting with preliminary patient care in a culturally sensitive manner. Ideal candidate should have prior experience working as a Medical Assistant in a high-volume setting.

Hours: This is 40 hour weekly position

Position Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Greet and room patients
  • Obtain and document patient medical history, vital signs, current medications, medication dosage and frequency, patient allergens in EHR
  • Prepares patient for exam
  • Maintain supplies in each exam room
  • Responsible for scheduling Dr. appointments and follow up appointments
  • Assists physicians with exams and treatments
  • Educates and advises patients on specified medical issues within established parameters
  • Data entry of client measures into clinical record
  • Creates reports and provides info as required by EHR regulation
  • Medication prior authorizations
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Medical Staff
  • Maintain accurate and strict confidentiality of patient information in electronic and/or manual systems as established by the appropriate protocols, regulations, and policies.
  • Care coordination


Position Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience working as a Certified Medical Assistant in an ambulatory or primary care setting, Mental Health setting preferred
  • Diploma or certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Must hold current and valid RMA or CMA
  • Updated CPR
  • Bi-Lingual preferred
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
