Application Support Specialist 

Description

Bridge Loan Network is seeking an Application Support Specialist who is comfortable working with a small team of experienced engineers supporting a web-based solution that provides loan origination, and loan servicing software. The Application Support Specialist will serve as the point of contact for support for Brokers, and Lenders on the Bridge Loan Network system.

Providing software and application support to both internal and external clients is a top priority for Bridge Loan Network as our company takes great pride in our ability to provide exceptional customer service. With that this job consist of 60% support, 30% level 1 IT support, and 10% project management.

The development and testing is done in various platforms – Windows, and Linux - using a variety of commercial and Open Source tools. You will be involved in user stories development, working alongside Developers and Product Owners.

You will be responsible for test plans to ensure the delivery of quality software applications for up to moderately complex projects. With continued improvements and adjustments to the software Bridge Loan Network is able to offer this to more customers, and continue expanding our customer base.

Additionally, candidate will be responsible for creating backlog items based on customer feedback, and bugs discovered during support. This is crucial in keeping our software up to date and working properly for our internal and external clients in the system.

The candidate should be able and willing to work in a team environment and have a solid work ethic.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Be familiar with the BridgeLoanNetwork system, and to be comfortable working with our customers on it.
  • Become familiar with the Private Money Real Estate Investment business
  • Assisting internal and external customers with support issues, tracking those issues.
  • Provide professional and courteous support to our Brokerage and Lender customers
  • Be able to properly document any issues that can not be corrected, so that our development can address them
  • Proactively establish and maintain effective working relationships with our sales, compliance, and engineering teams
  • Documents all issues and assists in their resolution.
  • Participates in the internal quality consultation provided to business or technical partners.
  • Records and reports on defects discovered during the QA and UAT testing phases.
  • Suggests and implements process improvements for Support, Quality Assurance and testing processes.
 
Position Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Must be capable of working well in groups and independently.
  • Must have demonstrably clear written and oral communication skills as well as analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with issue tracking databases, such as Jira or Team Foundation Server.
  • Phenomenal attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in organization, prioritization and time management skills
  • Able to work in a Team Environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other software.

Required Experience:

  • Application, or Customer Support experience.
  • Experience quickly learning new software products
  • Demonstrated ability to learn business concepts
  • Experience working with remote team members & offshore developers
  • Experience with SQL and Databases, preferably MySql

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in a Linux environment
  • Familiarity with documenting software defects, writing test plans from predefined requirements and contributing to requirement definition to ensure testable requirements.
  • Experience with CPanel & file structures.
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JS

Education:

  • AS, or BS in MIS, CSE, CS, or Physics or equivalent combination work experience in a similar function required.
