SUMMARY
The Security Specialist performs two core functions for the enterprise. The first is the day-to-day operations of the in-place security solutions while the second is the identification, investigation and resolution of security breaches detected by those systems. Secondary tasks may include involvement in the implementation of new security solutions, participation in the creation and or maintenance of policies, standards, baselines, guidelines and procedures as well as conducting vulnerability audits and assessments. The IT Security Specialist is expected to be fully aware of the enterprise’s security goals as established by its stated policies, procedures and guidelines and to actively work towards upholding those goals. All functions will be performed within the guidelines of the MNGE policies & procedures, internal control standards and objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
1. Perform routine maintenance and monitoring of all security systems.
2. Assist in developing end-user security training.
3. Participate in the planning and design of enterprise security architecture.
4. Participate in the creation of enterprise security documents (policies, standards, baselines, guidelines and procedures).
5. Participate in the planning and design of an enterprise Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan. 
6. Maintain up-to-date detailed knowledge of the IT security industry including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes and the development of new attacks and threat vectors. 
7. Recommend additional security solutions or enhancements to existing security solutions to improve overall enterprise security.
8. Assist in the deployment, integration and initial configuration of all new security solutions and of any enhancements to existing security solutions in accordance with standard best operating procedures generically and the enterprise’s security documents specifically.
9. Maintain operational configurations of all in-place security solutions as per the established baselines.
10. Respond to security incidents promptly, including analyzing and mitigating security breaches.
11. Conduct forensic investigations to determine the root cause of security incidents and recommend corrective actions.
12. Participate in the execution of vulnerability assessments, penetration tests and security audits.

Position Requirements

EDUCATION
College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, MIS, Security or related field and/or 1-2 years’ equivalent work experience.

One or more of the following certifications preferred:
Certified Ethical Hacker
Comptia Security+
(ISC)2 Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

EXPERIENCE
Experience and/or knowledge of various SIEM, Vulnerability management, and End point protection tools.
Strong understanding of Firewalls and basic network architecture.
Working technical knowledge of Vulnerability devices and techniques, Penetration testing.
Strong understanding of IP, TCP/IP, other network administration protocols and Security Frameworks.
Strong understanding of Microsoft & Linux operating systems.
