We are looking to add a Custom Content Project Manager to our growing team. As the Custom Content Project Manager you will be accountable for the day-to-day management and oversight of all VertMarkets custom content projects including: project initiation and planning, directing and managing project execution, monitoring and controlling project work, and scheduling of all project resources including writers, graphic designers, copy editors, and production. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are effectively and efficiently executed and delivered successfully against client expectations, and delivered on-time, on-budget and error-free contributing to overall company profitability and increased growth in our Custom Content business. More specifically, you will be responsible for the following: EXECUTION OF DELIVERABLES Direct and manage the execution of all Custom Content projects from inception through completion. Assess job requirements, resources, milestones, and deliverables ensuring collaboration and efficiency throughout. Collaborate with business development managers and provide experienced-based input to ensure that the client's strategic objectives are met within the parameters of the project. Develop, implement, and manage project plans and communicate objectives, priorities and goals among internal teams to ensure that custom content projects are accomplished collaboratively, on-schedule and meet client and company standards. As the primary interface with the client, project team, and sales, the project manager proactively monitors and controls project execution with all team members throughout the lifecycle of a job; updates teams on progress and addresses obstacles and concerns to maintain quality job output. RESOURCE MANAGEMENT Determine resource allocation to ensure that all jobs are managed on budget, on time, and within scope, including the assignment of writers and freelancers (copyeditors, graphic designers, and proofreaders) for all projects. Accurately track, report, and evaluate all custom content projects, lead internal status review meetings, proactively plan for and update resource needs on an ongoing basis. Maintain consistent communication and alert business development and senior management if additional resources are recommended to meet timelines and deliverables, addressing issues as they arise. PROCESS & WORKFLOW Accountable for internal- and freelance-writer adherence to workflow and process management focusing on quality, profitability, efficiency, and productivity. Effectively employ project management methodology throughout the lifecycle of all jobs ensuring quality control and flawless execution of intermediary and final job submissions. Regularly implements executional improvements and shares best practices broadly across the company.   Position Requirements Required Education / Skills / Experience: Bachelor’s Degree (a concentration in marketing, business administration, communications or related discipline is highly desirable) 5-7 years experience as a Project Manager or similar, preferably at B2B marketing agency, publishing company, or web media/digital agency Positive, collaborative attitude, with a confidence-inspiring approach to problem solving and exceeding customer expectations. Demonstrable knowledge and experience with project management methodologies, process and challenges Extremely organized, with a high attention to detail, and a proven track record of strong time management Concise, clear verbal and written communication and presentation skills Highly resourceful, collaborative problem solver and quick learner Ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a fast-paced environment Open to feedback, with an ability to inspire, support and understand people Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with cross-functional team members Preferred Skills / Experience: Experience managing a network of freelancers, including evaluation, negotiation, establishment of contracts. Experience working with brand content, content marketing, and/or custom content. Ability to educate and inspire clients with possibilities and capabilities of custom content to help improve their marketing programs Background that includes journalism, writing, copy editing, and/or business publishing.
