Job Title: Commercial Lending Sales Operation Specialist

Department: Commercial Lending

Reports to: Sr. Commercial Lending Officer

FLSA Status: Exempt

 

Summary: Individuals in the job are responsible for assisting Tropical Financial Credit Union in the achievement of its purpose of guiding members successfully through the financial marketplace. The position will provide support and assist in the efficient operation of the Commercial Banking Relationship by providing high quality customer service to loan and deposit commercial members. Effective performance should lead to enhanced overall CU relationships and the opportunity for increased new business production for the Commercial Lending Team members.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include providing sales, administrative process, and relationship management support while assisting with direct and proactive client outreach and collaboration with Commercial Lending Officers to identify additional opportunities within the client relationship. IN addition, they will manage the process and completion of loan packages from application through funding to ensure expeditious processing and improve the client experience. They will serve as a central point of contact for internal commercial lending partners and clients, supporting CU processes, products and services, and loan processes in order to deepen client relationships and ensure a positive total member experience.

  • Provide service that meets the Service Standards defined by Tropical Financial Credit Union and achieve annual goals that are established through the Performance Management Process.
  • Manages and coordinates loan process, from initial engagement through post-funding.
  • Orders appraisals, engages title, contacts for insurance, engages other 3rd party processes.
  • Ensures that that all required activities are met within established timeframes.
  • Researches and reviews collateral lien positions, reports potential issues impacting lien priority to team.
  • Responsible for ordering, receiving, and reviewing collateral documentation to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Identifies potential risks and solutions to enable effective documentation and collateral perfection.
  • Contacts commercial member as necessary to obtain required information and/or documentation and assists with resolving client-based needs pertaining to transactions.
  • Manages document-imaging requirements. Organizes and uploads all required documents to the system.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance and regulatory requirements and file maintenance are met.
  • Requests and monitors receipt of financial reporting requirements.
  • Responsible for final review of closing package prior to submission for funding.
  • Ensures that that all required activities are met within established timeframes.
  • Compliance:
    • BSA Compliance - every employee is required to uphold the credit union’s compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering policies and procedures. Specific functions within TFCU will take into consideration the awareness of unusual or suspicious activity that is relevant to the department.
    • In addition to any other assigned training courses, online BSA and OFAC courses must be completed at least annually, as made available by the Training and/or Compliance Departments.
    • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, Customer Identification Program, USA Patriot Act, OFAC, Fair Lending and Credit Card Act.
    • Comply with all TFCU policies and procedures to ensure compliance with such regulations.
  • Performs other duties as required with or without accommodation.
 
Position Requirements

  • MS Office Suite applications systems; lending-related systems

  • Exhibit high degree of professionalism and confidentiality in handling and having access to sensitive information.
  • Ability to travel between Credit Union and commercial locations and/or commute for training purposes.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required with minimum 5 years of related experience required or Bachelor’s degree desired with a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
  • Commercial/Business lending experience in a similar environment, Credit Union or Bank.
  • Must have current knowledge of Business Lending
  • Experience with commercial/business lending policies, practices and applicable banking/government regulations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to handle or touch. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
