This position will be responsible for managing the finance and Human Resources team for Atria’s Financial Institutions Segment composed of two broker dealers and a non-broker dealer service entity with reporting lines to the segment Chief Executive Officer and Atria’s CFO.

Position duties include but not limited to:


  • Develop, build, and grow the capabilities and responsibilities of the team


  • Oversee and direct Management Reporting and Financial Analysis
    • Oversee the preparation of business segment profitability and balance sheet reporting
    • Continually refine and develop key performance indicators and analyses to support management of the segment
    • Provide analyses and insights related to the financial wellbeing of the segment; new and renewed programs; new products; vendor management; ongoing segment profitability; and potential new entities and businesses
    • Provide ad hoc and recurring reporting as requested by the segment CEO and the firm CFO


  • Coordinate and oversee the segment annual planning and forecasting processes working with the segment CEO, functional heads, and the Atria FP&A team


  • Coordinate segment reporting to Management and the Boards
    • Monthly reporting of results including lender reporting
    • Board presentations
    • Special reports


  • Support the strategic planning processes and lead projects as needed


  • Support the Business Development team with respect to commission reporting and processing
    • Participate in communications with clients
    • Interface with clients on business development calls
    • Assist and guide the payroll and operation teams in addressing commission questions and issues


  • Oversee and review the preparation and maintenance of the segment’s books and records
    • Review, harmonize and develop accounting policies working with the Atria finance team
    • Review, harmonize and develop accounting processes working with the Atria finance team


  • Oversee the internal control and accounting systems across the segment including:
    • Accounts payables and payroll processing
    • Books and records
    • Commission processing
    • Cash management
    • Sweep pricing


  • Coordinate and oversee, as the broker dealer Fin Op, the timely external reporting and preparation of:
    • Audited broker/dealer PCAOB compliant financial statements and reports including the annual 15c 3-3 k(ii) exemption report
    • Monthly Focus reporting
    • Annual Service Organization Control (SOC) reports
    • Special Reports


  • Coordinate, administer, and/or support the preparation and timely filing of:
    • State and Federal tax reporting
    • Regulatory and state audits
    • Annual fee notices related to program changes
    • Property, sales, and other corporate taxes reports
Position Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; with 10+ years of related accounting experience in financial or securities industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • Series 27 required.
  • Experience in accounting financial reporting in a limited partnership preferred and dealing with multiple business entities required.
  • Experience with multi-state employees for tax and payroll issues preferred.
  • Previous experience working at a full-service broker dealer, investment advisor and insurance agency with strong understanding of products is important.
  • Must have proven management/leadership experience to motivate and develop employees.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Solid written communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
