GENERAL SUMMARY:

In accordance with the established mission, policies and procedures of Suja Juice the Quality Control Technician assures that the plant is compliant with food regulatory requirements and reports deficiencies or practices that could compromise food safety, quality and food defense.
 

 

SCHEDULE:

1st shift: Sunday - Thursday 5am - 1:30pm
or
2nd Shift: Sunday - Thursday 1pm - 9:30pm
or
3rd Shift: Sunday - Thursday 9pm - 5:30am
*NOT a remote position

 

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  
  • Monitors production conditions, specifications, process controls and tracking controls
  • Monitor washline concentrations and test ppm concentration for sanitation bucket and floor solutions
  • Monitor a system that will verify checks on existing production control forms and be audited on the same forms that meet all program requirements
  • Collect environmental swabs, air sampling dishes and Lab retain samples
  • Verify all CCPs on-line and take corrective actions whenever necessary to assist in determining the root cause and development of a preventative action plan
  • Responsible for checking the pH levels, temperature and brix of each batch of juice produced and is with in product specifications
  • Verify and document Facility Operation Inspections & Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) throughout the manufacturing areas
  • Perform Standard Sanitation Operational Procedures (SSOPs) verification and ATP swabs
  • Tracks non-conforming product (Holds) and their dispositions
  • Perform Pre-Operational inspection procedures of all production/bottling equipment and facility
  • Help train new employees on QC duties
  • Verify equipment calibrations and make necessary adjustments
  • Perform special assignments as needed by the Quality Assurance Manager
  • Assists with testing of food products to ensure compliance with standards and regulations
  • Change out circle charts
  • Verify volumes, lot codes, torques & bottle weights are within product specification
  • Complete and enter into database all pallet tags and CCP forms for production and bottling
  • Record cycles and verify that all HPP settings and information is correct
  • Perform metal mesh and magnet inspections
  • Verify production lot codes, labels, mold number and packaging is within product specification
  • Perform monthly audits
  • Shipping and receiving verifications
 
Position Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma required
  • 1-2 years QC or/and food industry experience (preferred but not required)
  • Knowledge of food safety regulation (preferred but not required)
  • Responsibilities will require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, holidays, evening/weekend hours in order to meet deadlines and production needs
  • The environment will be wet with temperatures as low as 32F



BASIC SKILLS:

  • Must have strong communications skills.
  • Must have strong critical thinking skills.
  • Must be able to adapt to constant changes and work independently with moderate supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
