Candidate Profile
Hilldrup has an immediate need for an experienced Straight Truck Driver (non-CDL) who is responsible for operating a straight truck daily. The incumbent supervises  the job daily, loads and unloads household goods shipments up to 11,000 lbs daily, packs shipments, andtracks inventories for shipments. The candidate is responsible for maintaining a good safety and claims record, as well as meeting company standards for customer satisfaction.

Significant Responsibilities Include

  • Responsible for quality assurance and customer satisfaction onevery job done;
  • Supervises crew of two to five men daily;
  • Loads and unloads shipments; Packs and unpacks shipments;
  • Completes all paperwork properly and on time;
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 - 100 lbs alone; up to 400 lbs in a team carry;
  • Must be able to carry furniture up and down stairs;
  • Loads truck for density and safety;

Physical/Mental Job Requirements

Job requires physical strength and dexterity up to the levels described above. Performing the actual move is an integral part of the job. Physical must be passed in order to meet federal government regulations.

 
Position Requirements

Minimum Job Qualifications Required

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience;
  • Experience: Six (6) months to 1 year household goods experience;
  • Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations: Pass DOT physical and drug screening;
  • Good driving record. Must complete UVL Packer and Mover certification training;
  • Basic literacy and math skills;
  • Strong customer service skills;
  • Good communication skills.
