ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Administer the configuration management system in the implementation and supervision of configuration management standards and disciplines as they apply to both hardware and software.
Validate new product technical data packages to ensure the completeness of engineering documentation, identify missing data, and affirm availability of source file information. Knowledge of drawings, engineering documentation, and the product structuring of BOMs is a must.
Establish and maintain the production baseline throughout the product lifecycle to include new product development, product transfers, improvement, repair, and retirement.
Manage and oversee the Engineering Change Order System.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, program management, and quality to ensure appropriate changes are accurately documented.
Administer the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system and migrate documentation to the PLM upon approval.
Assist in preparing official documentation for customer communication as necessary, such as Engineering Change Proposals, Notice of Revisions, Requests for Variance, and SDRL/CDRL reporting.
Support other departments as necessary in their needs for Configuration Management information.
In conjunction with the Engineering Manager, lead, guide, and train department personnel in the performance of related work, ensuring that all work is within guidelines of Extant processes, procedures, and customer specifications.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma, GED or equivalency required; prefer a 2 year degree plus a minimum of 4 years direct configuration management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficient in the Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat application.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
