Position Summary:

As a Housekeeping Dispatch position at Edgewood, you are responsible for all information sent out and received from the housekeeping dispatch desk, the main communication center of the Housekeeping and EVS departments. This critical position creates the Guest Room Attendants daily assignments. Keeps the notice board up to date with the relevant information. Monitors the Housekeeping daily operation throughout shift via property management software system.

This position requires basic administrative duties such as filing, copying, and full knowledge of the computers. Promotes positive energy of the property to guests and team members and must be pleasant, honest, friendly, attentive and should also able to address guest requests and problems. Makes sure that their quality of guest service is met or exceeded. The most important characteristic of our team is that we love inspiring lasting memories for our guests. Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for all incoming calls for Housekeeping and EVS and conveys accurate messages to the appropriate persons.
  • Follows opening checklist duties for building and distributing daily assignments for each team member according to point system.
  • Ensuring the Housekeeping team is productive and turning over necessary and applicable rooms to the Front Office team.
  • Maintains records related to day to day operations of Housekeeping.
  • Makes the relevant room status changes in property management software system as per the instruction given by Floor Supervisors.
  • Coordinates with Front office department on all VIPs & Pre-Arrival Rooms to ensure timely completion and turnover.
  • Follows up with concerned departments in case of guest requests/complaints to ensure timely completion.
  • Updates the Housekeeping data board with information like VIP arrivals/inhouse, Glitch Guests, Today's occupancy percentage, arrivals, departures, to do list, rooms for deep cleaning etc.
  • Professionally clean and maintain guest rooms and floor corridors using cleaning procedures and products as determined by company standards as needed.
  • Follows excellent telephone etiquette guidelines.
  • Handles the lost and found procedures and all enquiry.
  • Coordinates work orders with Engineering for room maintenance issues through HOTSOS and ensures follow up.
  • Assists in assigning Preventative Maintenance rooms for Engineering.
  • Ensures security of guest rooms along with a high level of confidentiality and privacy of guests.
  • Properly hands over to the next shift and mention all responsibilities in detail to next shift staff before leaving.
  • Prints a copy of Departures/Vacant Dirty rooms for each House Attendants.
  • Attends and sets the tone (i.e. music on TV) for morning briefing with EVS & Housekeeping staff.
  • Records GRA’s credits of past day and log it into Excel Spread Sheet.
  • Assists Executive Housekeeper & Assistant Rooms Manager with any projects necessary.
  • Responsible for following the standard operating procedures and department checklist.
  • Stays in compliance with applicable health, safety, or hygiene standards.
  • Attends all necessary training for Hotel department as scheduled. (ie. risk management and safety, Forbes training, etc.)
  • Observes and execute environmentally friendly practices.
  • Follows all MSDS, HazCom, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Bed Bug protocol.
  • Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications / Special Skills:

  • The ideal candidate is a seasoned and highly effective housekeeping professional.
  • Ability to think critical about hotel operations (i.e. room type availability and scheduling)
  • Experience in handing guest requests/concerns.
  • Must be able to type 30 words per minute and possess basic to intermediate computer skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members
  • Physical mobility and stamina required.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Professional, positive attitude is required.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Previous hotel-related experience desired.
  • Availability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.
