Position Summary:

As a Concierge at Edgewood Tahoe, you are in a position that is highly valued in creating lasing memories for our guests. You have the opportunity to explore your own creativity while making our guests visions come to life. You serve as the guest liaison for both hotel and non-hotel services. You assist with the front desk when needed. Know how to provide concise and accurate directions. Make reservations for all activities as outlined in our service manual for both on-premise and off-premise adventures such as booking dinner reservations, arranging transportation, rental of skis, obtaining event tickets etc. Use hotel contacts and businesses to fulfill any request a guest may have during the course of their stay. Essential Functions:

  • Welcome customers upon entrance and confirm reservations.
  • Act as the point of reference for guests who need assistance or information and attend to their wishes and requirements.
  • Understand customer’s needs and provide them with personalized solutions by suggesting activities and facilities provided by the hotel.
  • Acquire extensive knowledge of the premises and the nearby venues and businesses to make the most suitable recommendations.
  • Arrange events, excursions, transportation etc. upon request from hotel guests.
  • Answer the phone and make reservations, take and distribute messages or mail and redirect calls.
  • Respond to complaints and find the appropriate solution.
  • Develops a strong knowledge of the hotel's facilities and services and of the surrounding community.
  • Provides guests with information about attractions, facilities, services, and activities in or outside the property.
  • Makes guest reservations for transportation when requested.
  • Obtains necessary itinerary tickets.
  • Organizes special functions as directed by management.
  • Arranges secretarial and other office services.
  • To ensure a proper use of the telephone etiquette standards.
  • Process and deliver messages for guests.
  • Stay current and up to date with all hotel services as well as daily VIP requests and special events.
  • Ensure orderliness and safety guidelines around the lobby and front door areas.
  • Provide support to management as required, in cases of emergency.
  • Project a professional manner with an emphasis on hospitality and guest service.
  • Maintain a clean, healthy, and safety working area.
  • Coordinate guest requests for special services or equipment with the appropriate department.
  • Contact roomed guests periodically to ascertain any special needs.
  • Handle guest complaints and solve problem to the degree possible.
  • Build rapport with customers and provide them with genuine guidance and support.
  • Maintain a clean workable environment.

Position Requirements

Qualifications / Special Skills:

  • The ideal candidate is a seasoned and highly effective professional.
  • Proven experience as concierge retail role advantageous.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Polite and confident with a great deal of patience.
  • Ability in multitasking and time management.
  • Aptitude in resolving issues with customer-focused orientation.
  • Previous hotel-related experience desired.
  • Available to work varied shifts when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
